Thomson is offering some surprisingly good deals on flights to Barbados at the moment, with last minute returns available for under £350.
Cheap Caribbean holidays from Birmingham
The best deal Thomson is offering is on return flights from Birmingham, leaving on 19 February 2012 and returning on 04 March 2012. Tickets are currently being sold for just £348.98 – but they’ll almost certainly go very quickly.
Manchester to Barbados | April 2012
For those who need a bit more notice before booking a flight, Thomson still has some good deals for departures later in the year. Using the deal finder on the Thomson website, it’s possible to find returns to Barbados in April 2012 for from £388.98. That one departs from Manchester.

Both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are offering good deals on flights to Barbados in 2012. Special fares available in economy and premium economy.
Virgin & BA New Year flight sales
Both Virgin and British Airways have just launched new year sales – and that means that some relatively good deals on flights to Barbados are available with both airlines.
Virgin Atlantic is leading the way on the Barbados offers, with economy class return flights starting at just £500. Perhaps more interestingly for those who wish to travel in a degree of comfort, premium economy return flights are available for just £795. This sale ends on 24 January 2012 – so book before then using the Virgin Atlantic website or the search box below.
British Airways also has a sale on, although it’s not quite matching Virgin on price for Barbados flights. However – timings may work out better for you, and the BA deals are certainly worth considering if you collect frequent flyer points with them. Economy class returns are available for from £509. Again, the deals end on 24 January 2012, so book via the British Airways site or the search box below.

Cheapest Barbados flight deals
If you’re wanting to go to Barbados but are waiting for the cheapest deals, it’s worth looking at how prices fluctuate throughout the year. Skyscanner is a good tool for this, as you can get the site to list the fare prices for the major airlines that fly to Barbados – such as Thomson, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways – by month.
London Gatwick to Bridgetown fares
Viewing the prices across the whole year, and using the London Gatwick to Bridgetown route, Skyscanner came up with the following prices for direct flights.
January 2012: £217 out, £217 back – £434 in total.
February 2012: £271 out, £274 back – £544 in total
March 2012: £285 out, £271 back – £556 in total
April 2012: £289 out, £287 back – £576 in total

Sale fares and late availability deals
As you can see from this, the price of fares to Barbados doesn’t alter all that significantly throughout the year (although there are currently some excellent late availability deals in January). It’s also worth taking these figures with a pinch of salt – there are bound to be sale deals released within the next few months that offer better prices later in 2012.

Cheap flights to Barbados available for under £500 from London Gatwick in British Airways ‘winter blue’ sale. Offers also available on Caribbean package holidays.

British Airways has launched a ‘winter blue sale’, and while the most of the flight prices aren’t particularly exciting, the advertised deal to Barbados is pretty good.
London to Barbados flights for £499
BA is selling flights to Barbados from London Gatwick airport for as little as £499. This price is available for flights between 27 October 2011 and 08 December 2011 – but bookings need to be made before 08 November 2011.
Cheap Barbados package holidays
As part of the British Airways sale, there are also some great Barbados package holiday deals available. Seven nights in three star accommodation, plus flights from Gatwick airport, costs from £549. Bookings should be made directly on the British Airways website.

Flexible holidays to the Caribbean
If you’ve a degree of flexibility about your holiday dates, and want to go to the Caribbean, there are a couple of useful tools for finding the best deals. One of them is the Flights Deal Finder on the flights section of the Thomson website.
Flights Deal Finder
Essentially, it allows you to put in a range of dates in, and a destination (or even choice of destinations). You can narrow it down by departure airports too – say London, or the north-west of England.
Airport and date options
Hit show fares, and it will go through all the possible permutations for the range of dates and airports you have listed, and list all the potential deals in price order.
Thomson flights from Birmingham, Manchester and Gatwick
For example, I put in dates between November 2010 and June 2011 for flights to Barbados from any UK airport, and the following deals came up as the best:
Birmingham to Barbados on 5 January 2012, returning on 12 January 2012: £578.98
Gatwick to Barbados on various dates in January 2012: £588.98
Manchester to Barbados on various dates in January 2012: £618.98
Where to find cheapest flight deals
Now none of these deals are particularly brilliant, but Thomson hasn’t got a sale on Barbados flights at the moment. The principle remains for when Thomson does have a sale, though – check when the flights are cheapest before booking time off work.

The British Airways and Virgin Atlantic flight sales to Barbados may have ended yesterday, but it is still possible to get some good deals if you look in the right places.
Cheap Barbados flights 2012
Searching via Skyscanner, it’s still possible to find return flight deals to Barbados in 2012 for under £500. Just use the whole year setting, and it’ll show which months have the cheapest deals.
For example, Skyscanner is showing deals from Manchester to Barbados for from £480 return in February, while prices from returns from Gatwick start at £481.

British Airways is currently offering very tempting flight deals to Barbados from London Gatwick for as little as £499 return. But for anyone living in the north of England wanting a bit of Caribbean sunshine, Gatwick airport can be tricky to get to.
Manchester to Caribbean flight sale
Therefore it’s also worth taking a look at the current Virgin Atlantic sale. Virgin operates a direct Manchester to Barbados flight, and is selling return tickets for from £501. This price applies to flights taken 01 September and 07 December 2012, then again from 01 January 2012 to 27 March 2012.
Virgin sale dates
The £501 deal also applies to flight taken between 09 April 2012 and 30 June 2012 – but flights have to be booked before 20 September 2011 when the sale ends.
Bookings should be made direct via the Virgin Atlantic website – where you’ll also find details of £498 direct flights from London Gatwick to Barbados.

London to Barbados flights in 2011 available for just £499 in the British Airways sale. Seven night holidays in the Caribbean also on sale for £599.
Anyone wanting to book a holiday in Barbados for later in 2011 should head on over to the British Airways site right away – BA has launched a sale with some excellent prices to Caribbean destinations.
London to Barbados flight offer
Fans of Barbados are in for a cracking deal – British Airways is selling flights from London Gatwick to Barbados for as little as £499. These economy class return fares are available on London to Barbados flights that are booked before 20 September 2011.
Barbados flights 2011 & 2012
The £499 return offer is available for departures on various dates. These are between 01 September and 08 December 2011, then again from 09 January to 25 March 2012. The deal also applies to flights taken between 09 April 2012 and 30 June 2012.
If you’d sooner book a flight and hotel package, then British Airways is also offering some exceptionally good holiday deals. For example, a seven night stay at the three star All Seasons Resort in Barbados is on sale for from just £599 per person – including return flights from London Gatwick. This price applies to holidays taken between 12 and 30 September 2011, but other good deals are also available for other dates.

How to use Virgin Atlantic’s frequent flyer points to get cheap flights to Barbados from London Gatwick. The reward seat sale is offering value deals for Caribbean holidays.
Price of Barbados flights
Prices of flights to Barbados from the UK at the moment are really rather expensive. There are certainly no sub-£500 deals available, and returns for under £550 are only cropping up for very late notice flights.
Frequent flyer points & Air Miles
If you’re a member of a frequent flyer scheme, it’s situations like this where those accumulated miles or points are most efficiently used. After all, there’s no point wasting them when flights are already cheap, is there?
Gatwick to Barbados sale | Virgin reward seats
For any members of Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club scheme that are considering a trip to Barbados, it’s worth knowing that Virgin currently has a reward seat sale on. Instead of the usual 50,000 miles required for a London Gatwick to Barbados flight, return tickets are available for just 39,500 miles for various dates in 2011 and 2012.
Alas, these reward seat tickets do not include taxes and charges. When you add up the UK air passenger duty, Barbados Airport facilitation fee, UK passenger service charge, Barbados security fee and Barbados passenger service charge, it comes to £105.40. Virgin also adds a highly dubious fuel and insurance surcharge of £175.

So that’s £280.40 and 39,500 Flying Club points – still a pretty good deal for anyone who has enough frequent flyer points stashed up and fancies some Caribbean sunshine in Barbados.

Cheap flight offers from London Gatwick airport to Barbados with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Delta, American Airlines, Thomson, Air Canada and US Airways.
Direct Gatwick to Barbados flights
There are far more options for flight to Barbados from Gatwick than there are from any other airport. Hence, if you have to pick one airport to fly from, Gatwick is probably going to be cheapest.
Three airlines operate direct flights from Gatwick to Barbados – British Airways, Thomson and Virgin Atlantic – and direct usually works out cheapest.
Cheapest flights to Barbados?
However, it is worth investigating a few of the indirect options too. If certain airlines have a sale on for the dates you want to go to Barbados, a bit of extra inconvenience and longer flying times could save you a couple of hundred pounds.
Caribbean flights
Various connections are available in the Caribbean. LIAT, for example, flies to Barbados from Antigua, Tobago, Grenada, Trinidad, St Kitts and St Lucia, while Caribbean Airlines flies to Barbados from Kingston in Jamaica and Port of Spain in Trinidad. Flights to all of these destinations are available from Gatwick with British Airways, whilst Virgin Atlantic flies to all of them except Port of Spain and St Kitts.
Connecting flights via Canada
It’s also possible to connect through Canada. Air Transat flies to both Montreal and Toronto from Gatwick, while Air Canada connects the two main Canadian cities to Barbados. Westjet also offers flights on the Toronto to Barbados route.
US to Barbados flights
Connections via the United States are also available. You can fly from Orlando airport to Barbados with American Airlines or Jetblue, whilst flights to Barbados are also available from Charlotte with US Airways. US Airways also operates a Gatwick to Charlotte route, so you can book straight through. Flights to Orlando from Gatwick are available with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Delta and US Airways.
